Weekend Adventures

We were out exploring!

# 1 Pederrales Cellars
This is a lovely location for a winery. We LOVED the view. Will make for a fun 'picnic' day to go out and enjoy the coutryside and a glass of wine.

Muscat Canelli was purchased for enjoyment on a HOT summer day. refreshing and nice.
Merlot was secured because of it's flavor, especially the finsh.

# 2 Woodrose Winery was easily found on our way into Fredericksburg. Lots of potential here! They served your 'samples' as in a restaurant!

Cabernet Sauvignon had a full rich flavor!

# 3 Grape Creek
This was a great visit!! We shall certainly return. Knew their product and was a 'proud Texas winery'!!

Grand Rouge was an excellent choice for those that like a good taste in a refreshing wine.
Bellisimo will be used with guests. NICE finish.
Cabernet Trois is a fantastic triple blend which will call us back for more.

I am feeling good about our move. Took less time to move into this home than any other. Was so good to take the first morning and go down to the Riverwalk and explore. Was good for Charles and I to spend this time getting our feet on the ground and starting off with 'time for us' instead of work. Was different not racing out to Hideaway, in a very nice way. We did not awaken to dozens of chores that HAD to be accomplished while there. We could just do as we leisurely enjoyed, which was lovely. After several hours exploring we did some errands (finding Sam's and Costco) and got things we needed. Returned and 'went after it' and got so much done. Monday morning was a great one as we had gotten things out of the boxes and into their home spot.

January comes to a close

January is rapidly coming to an end. It is quite chilly out with more rain. We will not be lacking in water for the beginning of our summer at the rate it is falling. We are blessed in that it is not icy or snowy like other parts of our nation.

The year is starting with lots of thoughts about the near future. Charles and I have moved a few times since we married ten years ago in February. This move entails a few miles between us and our loved ones which makes it difficult. We shall learn a great deal about the great state of TEXAS with the move to San Antonio, though. There are so many places to visit as day trips and new adventures. We will be 2 - 3 hours from the beach which is a very happy thought for me, as I truly love the water and sand. It will give us new opportunities to make friends and do things we were not able to do here in Dallas. It is exciting in that respect. Our love for one another will carry us through any spots that feel difficult. Leaving my comfort zone is not easy but presents a challenge that I shall face with God's guidance. We have allowed his direction to move us in this decision to go south and feel he has a plan.

I believe that we are very EXCITED about celebrating our Anniversary this year. Tomorrow we fly to LA to board a Princess ship bound for Hawaii. This is our 50th State to visit!! It will be great to 'regroup' and get our minds and hearts lifted up for the next phase of our marriage. Really thrilled that the timing is such. The house is 3/4 packed so when we return it will not take a great deal of effort to finish. We will be rested and ready to move along with life.

I am so sad to be that far away from Ms Sadie and Ms Katie. It is our hope that we will be able to have good visits from them in San Antonio and at the Lakehouse. My heart will fill up with love during our visits to hold me until the next one.
